Corral Hollow Road
Tracy, California
' Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick:
' In accordance with your request and authorization, Kleinfelder has performed additional soil
sampling and analyses at the above-referenced project site. This letter report supplements
Kleinfelder's previous report titled "Limited Soil Sampling and Analyses, Fitzpatrick Homes
Monogram Collection, (Former R&B Trucking Company), 1785 N. Corral Hollow Road, Tracy,
California", dated August 21, 2001. This report summarizes excavation activities and soil
sampling and analyses of two areas at the site noted with discolored soil and petroleum-like
odors. Excavation and sampling activities were conducted along the northern and eastern
sidewalls of a previously existing Large Excavation C (LEC) and a new area located south of
LE-C, labeled Southern Excavation D (SE-D). Kleinfelder's previous report details the initial
texcavation and sampling of area LE-C.
' BACKGROUND
Kleinfelders initial report dated August 21, 2001 presents results for a limited soil and
' groundwater assessment conducted at 1785 N. Corral Hollow Road, in Tracy, California. The
assessment was conducted for Fitzpatrick Homes as a result of discolored soil noted during
grading operations (week of June 18, 2001) while developing the site for residential lots. The
site was previously owned by R&B Trucking Company from the late 1960's to about 1990.
During Kleinfelder's initial assessment discolored soil with a petroleum-like odor was removed
' from three excavations, totaling approximately 4,100 yards of soil. A total of 44 soil samples
were collected from the excavations of which 40 soil samples were analyzed primarily for
petroleum constituents. During the subsequent groundwater assessment four temporary wells
' were installed in the vicinity of the two larger excavations. A groundwater sample from each
well was also analyzed primarily for petroleum constituents. Groundwater flow direction and
gradient was also calculated based on groundwater soundings from these four wells.
' 204341-11.E01/201IL.635 Page l of
Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder,Inc.
