In consideration of the agricultural and potential future residential use of the area, DTSC recommends that all soils impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons above 1000 ppm be removed and disposed of at a properly permitted facility. In addition, DTSC'recommends that soils impacted with hydrocarbons in the area around AOC#4 tested at 860 ppm be removed. Confirmation sampling around all excavated areas shall be tested to confirm removal of hydrocarbons above 1000 ppm. Although the facility proposed leaving petroleum hydrocarbons and oil and grease above 1000 ppm in place at SWMU #21 which may be discovered under the concrete pad as a result of confirmation sampling, DTSC is requiring that such soils be removed due to the potential for residential use of the property in the future. Public Participation A 45-day comment period on this project was held from January 17, 2001 to March 5, 2001.
