N ? • •
Corrective Action Remedy Selection,General Dynamics OTS(California Inc.)
Statement of Basis.March 2001
been presented to change this use designation, however, future residential use is a
possibility since the area is still mainly agricultural. In consideration of the agricultural
and potential future residential use of the area, DTSC recommends that all soils
impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons above 1000 ppm be removed and disposed of
at a properly permitted facility. In addition, DTSC'recommends that soils impacted with
hydrocarbons in the area around AOC#4 tested at 860 ppm be removed. Confirmation
sampling around all excavated areas shall be tested to confirm removal of
hydrocarbons above 1000 ppm.
Although the facility proposed leaving petroleum hydrocarbons and oil and grease
above 1000 ppm in place at SWMU #21 which may be discovered under the concrete
pad as a result of confirmation sampling, DTSC is requiring that such soils be removed
due to the potential for residential use of the property in the future.
Public Participation
A 45-day comment period on this project was held from January 17, 2001 to March 5,
2001. A fact sheet entitled "Corrective Action Remedy Selection for Solid Waste
Management Units and Class 2 Permit Modification, Pdmex Technologies" dated
January 2001 was mailed to area residents, local governmental representatives, and
other interested parties. The Tracy Main Library was used as a repository for the draft
Statement of Basis, draft permit, Corrective Measures Study Workplan, and fact sheet.
If you have any questions regarding this Statement of Basis, please contact Mr. Andrew
Berna-Hicks at (510) 540-3956.
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs.see our Web-site at w vcftsc.ca.gov.
0 Printed on Recycled Paper
