Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Transmittal of Revised Technical Work Plan - Hydropunch and Sampling Program
Castle Rock Fire Station, 34580 Corral Hollow, Tracy CA
Site Code: 1900
Dear Mr. Sasson:
Pursuant to our December 20, 1994 phone conversation, Tetra Tech has prepared a revised
technical work plan to comply with San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health
requirements for closure of the former 550-gallon diesel underground storage tanks at the above-
referenced location. Two copies of the work plan are enclosed for your review.
Per your direction, the proposed scope of work has been reduced to consist of a single soil
boring to be located at the midpoint of the former tank cavity. Since depth to first groundwater
has been documented at shallow levels, the boring will extend to the depth of groundwater to
allow hydropunching and collection of one grab groundwater sample. The data will be used to
determine if petroleum hydrocarbons from the tank have impacted groundwater.
As we discussed, we are evaluating the possibility of sampling the nearby Livermore National
Laboratories monitoring wells. Tetra Tech has contacted Livermore's environmental consultant
to obtain analytical data from the wells. The data will be reviewed to determine if groundwater
sampling of the wells is necessary.
