Background Information <br /> Ali stated this is regarding the Country Club Sewer Project, a design-build project, <br /> awarded to Kenko, Inc. and Kjeldsen Sinnock & Neudeck. He passed out maps of the <br /> project, showing the project extends from Tuxedo/Pershing to Orange St. and then <br /> along Country Club Blvd. to Plymouth Rd. and on to the Smith Canal Pump Station. He <br /> noted that Contractor is currently completing the design documents and has been <br /> communicating with the County Public Works Department regarding the encroachment <br /> permit. Last week the Director of MUD received a letter from County Environmental <br /> Health regarding 8 known sites of old fuel tanks leaking in the area. The letter was <br /> forwarded to the contractor and the Engineer to let them know of the potential <br /> contaminated areas. On Monday afternoon, contractor encountered contaminated soil <br /> and stopped work. Ali met at the job site with staff from Kleinfelder to discuss options. <br /> This meeting was called to discuss ways to avoid the contamination or mitigate the <br /> problem. <br /> The site plan with highlighted areas showing the 8 known sites was distributed to the <br /> group <br /> 2. Dewatering Plan (alternative dewatering) and Trench Excavation <br /> There was discussion on the sites and the extent of the plumes. There was discussion <br /> regarding the possible migration of the plumes, but no one knew the extent of the <br /> problem at this time. It was determined that testing would need to be performed to <br /> determine the extent of the problem. There was discussion regarding the difference <br />
