k'q KLFINFELDER
I
42 RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
Table 1 located in the Appendix summarizes the groundwater analytical results collected from the
Franklin Site area of the project A total of 14 grab groundwater samples were collected, seven
from dewatenng wells and seven from pushprobe borings The groundwater samples were
collected over three sampling events conducted on April 3, April 10 and May 2, 2003 Dunng
Klelnfelder's initial sampling event on Apnl 3, 2003, groundwater samples were collected from
three dewatenng wells (DW-54, DW-55 and DW-56) The seven pushprobe groundwater samples
(GPI through GP7) were collected on April 10, 2003 and the final set of samples (DW-48, DW-
50, DW-51 and DW-52) were collected from dewatering wells on the western portion of the
Franklin area For additional details, please see the laboratory data sheets and chain of custody
records in Appendix D
Based on the results summarized in Table 1 located in the Appendix, up to IO analytes from the
requested suite of analyses (See Section 3 4) were detected in groundwater in the Franklin Area
' The following is a summary of the concentration ranges detected for these ten analytes
TPH-G 0 058 to 0 58 mg/kg
Total Xylenes 0 6 to 1 5 ltg/kg
MTBE 0 59 to 62 Vtg/kg
TBA 5 2 to 6 0 µg/kg
Trans-1,2- DCE 1 1 to 160 pg/kg
' Cis-1,2-DCE 2 1 to 140 pg/kg
WE 1 5 to I 1 µg/kg
' PCE 13
Chloroform
2 5 to 4 7 g/kg
Total Lead 0 014 to 2 1 mg/kg
Based on the findings It appears the majonty of the volatile organic compounds and
petroleum
constituents in groundwater are located over a 400 foot pipeline route area between DW-51 and
GP-3 The estimated area including"trace" constituent concentration ranges from DW-50 to GP-5
which traverses approximately 650 linear feet The groundwater results from the farthest western
end of the assessment area (DW-48) and from the farthest eastern end of the assessment area (GP6
' and GP7) were found none detected for the requested analyses At the request of PHS/EHD one of
the groundwater samples collected In the central portion of the assessment area (GP2) was also
analyzed for TPH-D TPH-D was not detected at or above laboratory reporting limas from the
groundwater sample collected from GP-2
10
' 25699 E01 /ST03R759 Page 9 of 17
Copyright 2003,Kleinfelder,Inc May 20,2003
