ADVANCEMENT OF PUSH PROBES / CPTS
On April 5, 2003, four (4) cone penetrometer tests (CPTs), were advanced to a depth of
' approximately 25 feet below ground surface (bgs) A fifth CPT was advanced to a depth of
approximately 40 feet to obtain information regarding the lithology in the area for trench stability
iSSUeS
During the advancement of the CPTS, they were continuously electronically logged for lithologic
' classification Soil and grab groundwater samples were collected for quantitative chemical
analyses from three of the five shallow soil probe locations (PT2, PT3 and PT4) The soil
samples were collected dust above first encountered groundwater at depths ranging from 6 to 11
feet bgs A total of six soil samples were collected, two from each of the three shallow probe
locations A grab groundwater sample was collected at each location using a cleaned stainless
steel bailer Groundwater was generally encountered at a depth of approximately 10 to 12 feet
bgs
After collection, the soil samples were labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody, and immediately
' stored in an iced cooler Based on field observations and the CPT locations, six (6) soil samples and
three groundwater samples were submitted to Alpha Analytical, Inc of Sparks, Nevada, a State of
California certified laboratory and analyzed for the following analyses
• Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (Gasoline Range) [TPH-G] by EPA Method
8015M/DHS LUFT
' • Benzene, Toluene,Ethylbenzene, Xylenes [BTEX] by EPA Method 8015B/8260B
• Total Lead by EPA Methods
• VoIatile Organics (including 5 Oxygenates) by EPA Method 8260B
28699 E01 /ST03R627 Page 4 of 8
' Copyright 2003,Klemfelder,Inc April 22,2003
