' kf] KLEINFELDER <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> • <br /> A Soil Boring/Morutormg Well Pemut was obtained prior to advancement of the Cone <br /> Penetrometer Tests (CPTs) Soil and groundwater samples were obtained at the CPT locations <br /> shown on Plate 1 Additionally, grab groundwater samples were obtained from an adjacent <br /> dewatenng well (DW-32), and two samples were obtained from the dewatering discharge from the <br /> Bore Pit near the southwest corner of I-5 and Country Club Drive Selected samples were <br /> chemically analyzed <br /> ' 3 1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> ' Kleinfelder met with San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental <br /> Health Division (PHS/EHD), the City of Stockton, and the County of San Joaquin regarding soil <br /> bonng/well and encroachment permitting The PHS/EHD permit approval was obtained prior to <br /> initiating fieldwork The boring location was marked in white paint and Underground Service <br /> Alert (USA) was notified at least 48 hours prior to drilling activities For a copy of the boring <br /> ' permit,please refer to Appendix B <br /> 3 2 SAMPLE THE BORE PIT DISCHARGE AND SELECTED DEWATERING WELLS <br /> Grab water samples were obtained from 4 recently installed dewatenng wells on the project In <br /> an attempt to mimmize waste for disposal, the wells were not purged prior to sampling <br /> However, many of the dewatering wells had already been developed Only one of these wells <br /> (Dewatenng Well 32, DW-32) existed in the subject area near the Shell station, and was sampled <br /> ' on April 5, 2003 Two grab groundwater samples were also obtained from the discharge of <br /> sedimentation tank which handles discharge from the bore pit (west of I-5) on April 5 and 11, <br /> 2003 <br /> ' The 3 samples were collected as described in Appendix A and submitted to Alpha Analytical, <br /> p pp p yt , <br /> Inc of Sparks, Nevada, a State of California certified laboratory The following is a summary of <br /> ' the analyses for the two Bore Pit Samples and a single Dewatering Well DW-32 <br /> ' The initial Bore Pit grab sample (April 5, 2003) was analyzed for the following <br /> • Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Referenced to Diesel (TPH-D) <br /> ' • Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes [BTEX] by EPA Method 8015M/8020M <br /> The second Bore Pit grab sample (April 11 2003) was analyzed for the following <br /> ' • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)by EPA Method 1664 <br /> . • Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes [BTEX] by EPA Method 8260B <br /> ' • Volatile Organics by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 28699 E6E /ST03R627 Page 3 of 8 <br /> ' Copyright 2003,Klemfelder,Inc April 22,2003 <br />
