V
Ai
-
decontaminated, four-inch, PVC bailer per well. Development will be continued
ntil well water is relatively clear and free of sediment.
Prior to sampling, all wells will be checked for the presence of free floating
product, with product thickness measured as appropriate. Groundwater samples
gill be collected following the removal of three well volumes of water from
each wel. Temperature, pH and specific conductance measurements of the
purged water will be performed to document steady state sampling conditions.
Purging and sampling of each well will be accomplished using one
decontaminated bailer per well.
All samples will be placed in a ziploc bag and sealed with security tape.
Samples will be stored in a refrigerated ice chest and delivered to a DOHS
certified laboratory for analysis.
3.5 CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
All soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes
(BTEX) by EPA Methods modified 8015 and 8020. In addition, groundwater
samples will be analyzed for fecal coliform by EPA Method 9221.
3.6 SOIL VAPOR PIPING
1"" Soil vapor collection and treatment will be facilitated and considered as
discussed in Section 2.3. Soil vapor piping would consist:af chemically-
inert, re3istart flexible polyethylene piping placed below grade. Slotted -
F
•- vapor collection piping would be layed in pea-gravel backfill in the former
gasoline UST excavation, near the bottom of that backfill. Closed piping
would be layed in sand or pea-gravel, at least 18 inches below grade, in a
trench running from the backfilled UST excavation to a riser and stub-out, for
a possible treatment plant. The treatment area would,be an 8 feet by 10 "feet
~ concrete pad, located between a cinder block wall and a service building, in
the northwest corner of the site. The closed vapor collection pipe would be
spliced with several capped tees for possible subsequent tie-in of additional
vapor collection lines.--,- --. - - -- --- - - - -- - ---
8
_4:ENG:9205/031291 _ -..,
F
