INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Executive Summary
The results of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) pilot test performed at the BP station at 1403
Country Club Blvd. in Stockton, California, coupled with previous interpretations of the
extent of hydrocarbon contamination in the soil, indicate that the contamination can be
significantly mitigated by an SVE system utilizing the existing perforated pipe within the old
tank backfill.
The SVE system must be capable of imposing a vacuum of 3 inches water column at the well
head at a flow rate of 100 cubic feet per minute. This is expected to result in a radius of
influence of 85 feet which is enough to cover the affected area. The pilot test data indicate
that initial hydrocarbon recovery rates would be about 24 pounds per day. Past experience
has shown a marked drop in wellhead VOC concentrations after 2 months.
MZ(03-10-9ZIUST10087M M
