SECOR <br /> 4 <br /> • International Incorporated <br /> February 13, 2002 <br /> Project 077 43850 416 <br /> Mr Ed Ralston <br /> Phillips 66 Company <br /> 1350 Lead Hill Road, Suite 100 <br /> Roseville, CA 2 ?� P11-' <br /> Re Dual-Phase Extraction Summary Report <br /> Tosco (former BP) Service Station #11192 <br /> 1403 West Country Club Boulevard <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Ralston <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Tosco Corporation, a <br /> subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum Company, has prepared this report to document a five- <br /> day dual-phase extraction (DPE) event that was conducted at the site referenced above <br /> (Figure 1) DPE was performed at the site by SECOR on December 3rd through <br /> December 7`h, 2001 The objectives of the interim remediation/DPE feasibility testing <br /> were 1) to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site, <br />�•' and 2) to determine the feasibility of DPE as an applicable technology for remediation at <br /> the site The DPE test was performed in accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Work <br /> Plan for 5-Day Dual Phase Extraction Event, dated October 29, 2001 <br /> SITE BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> The site is located at 1403 West Country Club Boulevard in Stockton, California and is <br /> an operating 76 service station The operating facility consists of two gasoline USTs, one <br /> waste oil UST (operated by others), associated product lines, and four dispenser islands <br /> In 1991 three 10,000 gallon and four 2,000 gallon USTs were removed from the site <br /> Between 1990 and 1991 seven groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-7) <br /> and two vapor extraction wells ((VW-1 and VW-2) were installed on site A hydropunch <br /> study and a vapor extraction test were conducted in 1992 In 1994, four soil borings were <br /> advanced on site (GR, 2001) <br /> Groundwater extracted from monitoring Well MW-3 during eight weekly events between <br /> November 16, 2000 and January 2, 2001 Approximately 2,400 to 3,800 gallons of <br /> groundwater was recovered from well MW-3 during each event using vacuum truck from <br /> Onyx Industrial Services of Benicia, California Additionally, on November 16, 2000, <br /> approximately 600 gallons of groundwater were removed from groundwater monitoring <br /> Well MW-7 The total volume of water extracted from MW-3 is approximately 27,000 <br /> . gallons and the estimated mass of Methyl-tertiary Butyl Ether (MtBE) recovered is 26 6 <br /> pounds Weekly groundwater extraction was discontinued after the eight-week period <br /> per the approval of San Joaquin County Public Health Services (GR, 2001) <br /> 3017 09ore Road, Sutte 100 Rancho Coidova CA <br /> 95670 916 861 0400 916 8610430 Fax www secor com <br />
