Page 1 of I
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Tim Cuellar [tcuellar@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Monday, June 15, 2009 1:27 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: Country Club Food & Fuel, 1856 Country Club Blvd., Stockton CA
Attachments: CCFF site plan.pdf; CCFF well as-builts.pdf
Mike, I submitted an EHD application (with $375 check) to destroy wells MW-1 through MW-5
at Country Club Food & Fuel. I wanted to further discuss with you the plan for abandoning the
wells since Margaret has indicated to us that work plan not necessary to abandon wells in San
Joaquin County.
For the well destructions, I intend to use Gregg Drilling. I have attached as-built diagrams for
MW-1 through MW-5. Wells MW-1 through MW-4 are 2-inch wells and well MW-5 is a 4-inch
diameter well; 8-inch augers will be utilized to drill-out wells MW-1 through MW-4, and 10-augers will
be utilized to drill-out well MW-5. The entire contents of each well will be removed from drilling
activities to depths of approximately 25 feet bsg. Prior to drilling, the drillers will place a 1" diameter
drill rod down the well casing to total depth, which will keep the augers centered in the original
borehole. All drill cuttings will be place in 55-gallon drums for appropriate landfill disposal.
Because there is very little grout seal (approx. 3-4feet), the drillers should be able to remove the entire
well casing from the bore hole intact. The drillers will place the removed well casing on plastic for EHD
inspection. Once inspected, the casing will be placed in 55-gallon drums for appropriate landfill
disposal.
After removing all well contents from the borehole, the borehole will be backfilled to grade utiizing a
tremie pipe and Portland Type II cement and under the supervison of the EHD.
Let me know if this plan is acceptable.
