' 05 March 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0465
' 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After
collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under
chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) for analysis The samples were analyzed
' for
C Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in
' accordance with EPA Methods 5 03 0/8015-Modified and 355018015-Modified,respectively
Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX)and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)
' in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and
C Fuel oxygenates - MTBE, di-Isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tertiary butanol (TBA) in accordance with EPA
' Method 8260 Modified
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected on
15 January 2002,the contaminant Impact to ground water was quantified by the laboratory analytical
data
1
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' At the time of the January2002 sampling event depths to ground water ranged from 8 99 feet to
10 06 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 6 19
feet below mean sea level (MSL) in well MW3 to 6 42 feet below MSL in well MW2 (Table 1)
During this monitoring event, the ground water level in the wells was approximately 4 10 to 5 06 feet
' below the tops of the well screens, indicating that the wells are screened properly and yield
representative shallow ground water samples The relative ground water elevation at the site
increased an average of 3 32 feet between the October 2001 and January 2002 monitoring events
Monitoring data from MW 1 through MW4 was combined with monitoring well data collected from
the adjacent Sanchez Property(1876 Country Club Boulevard)on 15 January 2002 to determine the
' approximate ground water flow direction Ground water flow at the site varied radially from
northwest to northeast at an average gradient of 0 002 feet/feet Figure 3 Illustrates the contoured
ground water elevations as measured on 15 January 2002
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
