SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
' e The static water level was determined to be approximately 10 feet below the well casing tops
The prevailing ground water flow direction in July in this area was toward the northwest
G None of the analytes tested for in the soil samples analyzed from MW-1 through MW-4 were
detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
' O TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX compounds and TAME, ETBE, DIPE and TBA, were not detected
at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples analyzed from MW-1
through MW4
0 Dissolved MTBE is present in the area of the former USTs and extends to the north In the
area of the dispenser island, past MW-1 but does not extend to or past MW-2
' G The lateral extent of dissolved MTBE has been defined to the north but remains undefined
to the east, west and south
' G The State of California Department of Health Services has adopted a concentration of 13 ,ug/l
as an action level(ALs) for MTBE in March 1999, and has adopted a concentration of 5 zg/l
as a secondary maximum contaminant level (MCL) in January 1999 The Concentration of
dissolved MTBE detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-1, MW-2 and
MW-4 were above the secondary MCL Concentrations of dissolved MTBE detected in the
water samples from MW-3 and MW-4 were above the AL
' 6.0. RECOMMENDA'T'IONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
' Initiation of quarterly momtoring/sampling to further assess the dissolved MTBE
contamination The next quarterly momtonng/sarnpling event should be scheduled for
October 2000
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
