02 October 2000
AGE-NC Project No 98-0465
specifications for murucipal wells near the site A database from the California Department of Water
Resources (DWR), driller's well log files and a well location map prepared by the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (SJCFC&WCD) were examined to locate
wells near the site A 2,000-foot search radius from the site was used Owners/residents of nearby
properties of the site were contacted regarding wells near the site
4.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water flow direction was determined during the sampling event and gradient was inferred
from data collected in the field, ground water levels were above the screen interval of the wells on
' the site, the hydrocarbon impact to ground water was quantified by the laboratory data obtained from
the ground water samples
41 STRATIGRAPHY
In general brown, damp to moist silty clay was encountered at approximately 5 feet and 20 feet bsg
At 10 feet bsg the hthology was brown, moist, silt with fine sand A brown saturated silty fine sand
was encountered at 15 feet bsg Poorly graded sand with silt was encountered at 25 feet bsg The
boring logs are included as Appendix A A line of cross-section is illustrated on Figure 4 A
stratigraphic cross section is depicted in Figure 5
' Organic vapor was not detected in MW1 through MW4 PID data is included on the boring logs
(Appendix A)
4 2 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
' The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1)
' For the July 2000 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 9 72 feet to 10 73 feet below
the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 6 98 feet below mean
' sea level (MSL) in well MW4 to 7 06 feet in well MW1 The ground water in wells MW1 through
MW4 occurs within the screened interval
' The ground water flow direction was calculated using ground water elevation data The ground water
at the site was inferred to be flowing to the north-northwest under an average gradient of 0 0013
Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 18 July 2000
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,[ne
