HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site <br /> SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCENTRATIONS: <br /> Gasoline Up to 5,900 µg/l <br /> Diesel Up to 300 mg/kg <br /> Benzene Up to 140 yg/l <br /> Toluene Up to 380 µg/l <br /> Ethylbenzene Up to 30 ,ug/1 <br /> Xylenes Up to 16 mg/kg <br /> Methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) Up to 40,000 1 <br /> The primary hazards of each are identified as follows <br /> 1 Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors They are flammable and have low solubility in water <br /> Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br /> nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system <br /> Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br /> dizziness, and loss of coordination Certain components of gasoline(BTE&X etc )are known <br /> or suspected carcinogens <br /> The additional potential hazards include Slip-trip-fall hazards, noise, heavy equipment (I e , drill <br /> r1 vibration hazards traffic hazards etc <br /> i <br /> Advanced Geo E nviron mental,Inc <br />
