02 November 2004
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0465
' Page 4of4
• TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from MW-1 at a concentration of
' 700 µg11, for the fifth consecutive monitoring event Historically, TPH-g has not been
detected above laboratory reporting limits in monitoring wells MW-2 through MW-4 The
appearance of TPH-g at the same or similar concentrations of MTBE indicates that the ry
' reported concentration of TPH-g Is actually an isolated MTBE peak, which falls within the
same carbon range
' 0 MTBE was detected in samples collected from MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations of
650 µg/1 and 7 7 gg/l, respectively The concentration of MTBE in MW-1 exceeds the
Primary State and Federal established maximum containment level (MCL) of 13 µg/l for
' MTBE in drinking water
• The lateral extent of MTBE-Impacted ground water has been defined to the northeast of the
1 former UST area, but not toward the west-northwest, east, or south
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS-
Based
ECOMMENDATIONS_Based on the findings recounted in this report, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly monitoring of the ground water monitoring wells The next monitoring
' event should be performed in October 2004
• Preparation of a work plan to delineate the lateral extent of MTBE-Impacted ground water
at the site
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
tenvironmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon field
measurements and analytical results provided by an Independent laboratory Evaluation of the
hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this Investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i e ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary
away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional
' interpretations, opinions, and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoFmironmental,Inc
