According to San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) files no corrective action has taken place at
the above referenced site to date.
When the two 1000 gallon gasoline underground storage tanks were removed in January
1989 PHS/EHD staff noted obvious soil contamination on their inspection report.
Results of the soil samples collected beneath the tanks at the time of removal confirmed
high levels of soil contamination. Since the soil samples were collected at a depth of 10
feet below ground surface (bgs) and seasonal high groundwater is 15 feet bgs according
to San Joaquin County Flood Control Map of Spring 1986, a groundwater investigation is
warranted.
Your site was placed on the contaminated site list maintained by PHS/EHD in February
1989. At that time an "Unauthorized Release Report" was completed Iisting the site on
the State contaminated site list. Pursuant to Section 25299.37 of the Health and Safety
Code PHS/EHD is directing you to take corrective action in response to the
unauthorized release from the underground storage tanks.
Compliance with corrective action orders and directives is a requirement for
reimbursement of cleanup costs from the Cleanup Fund.
In order to be in compliance with this directive you must submit a work plan for
installation of a minimum of three monitoring wells by April 1, 1993. The report of this
work must be signed by a California Registered Geologist, Certified Engineering
Geologist or Registered Engineer. A list of consultants that have worked in this county is
enclosed.
A Division of San Jo=W Counry Hc2i h rAm 5erviccs
