1
4'
CONCLu IONS-
' As a result. of all of the work done to date, the following
conclusions appear to be valid=
' 1. A "zero" line for both soil & water contamination has been
defined to the east & south. This is confirmed by both the
' results of the soil-gas survey & monitoring wells #4 & #5, which
were non-detect in both soil & water samples. PLATES XIII & XIV
show rough contours on levels of benzene & gasoline from the
latest groundwater samplings_
2. The limits of soil & groundwater contamination have not yet
been located to the north & west of the property.
3. All of the data collected to date continues to strongly
suggest an offsite source or sources of contamination located to
the north or west of the property.
4. Additional onsite investigative wozk does not appear to be
Trarranted.
b_1
RECO NDAxHONS
1. Include the new wells in the ongoing quarterly monitoring
program, which should continue until a change in conditions
warrants reevaluation.
' 2. Additional offsite work should be performed in an attempt to
either identify another source of contamination, define the
limits of the plume to the north & west, or both. Possible
methods could include shallow soil--gas surveys, soil borings,
hydropunch or BAT sampling, punch samples, or combinations of
those.
As our workload permits, aad when we receive permission from our
client to proceed, we will begin a feasility study & cost
analysis to determine the best approach to obtaining the ma imuum
amount of information at the lowest cost. We uill keep the
Couantr off lce updated or a our p °o ress.
6 a. .I ter &a Associates af_5 G p
OC o er 25, 1994 S OG
' cc '1_ Sanchez 'ItL1tiJ KltfER
Both Thayer, RWQCB
NO 850 ,
 oF CALIQ'Q
7 '
