The perforations
were sand-packed with 5 sacks of #2 1/2 RMC gravel, sealed with
one bucket of bentonite pellets, (wetted, ) and then grouted to
the surface with Class A cement.
After cementing MW #3, the crew grouted the other two wells.
After settling for a while, additional cement was placed in the
annulus to fill back to about 2' below the surface.
Drill cuttings and water used for cleaning equipment were placed
' in properly marked drums and stored on site pending the results
of the laboratory analyzes.
Mr. Michael Collins, REBS, of the County EHD, was present during
some of the drilling operations, and supervised the grouting of
the wails.
The preserved soil samples were transported to FGL Environmental
by WJH, under proper chain-of-custody. Instructions were given
to analyze all samples for BTEX, (EPA 8020, ) TPH--G, (EPA 8015M, )
and total lead, (EPA 7420 ) The results of those anayzes are
summarized on TABLE II, which shows that all samples from MW-2
were below detection limits for BTEX & TPH-G; MSI-1 had small
amounts of Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene, & TPH-G in the sample
' at 16' ; and BTEX & TPH-G at 16' . and Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene
at 23' were detected in MW-3
' The laboratory reports and chamn-of-custody are included as
EXHIBIT i .
On April 16, Spectrum Exploration personel returned to the site,
and developed all three wells by swabbing with a hard rubber
disc. Water was placed in properly marked drums and stored on
site. Cristie boxes were set and grouted in place, making sure
' that the annulus was filled with cement. Casings were cut off as
required, and locking caps and locks were installed.
' On April 21 , Del-Tech Geotechnical purged all three wells,
measured water depths, and obtained samples for analysis; field
logs covering measuring and sampling protocol & a copy of the
chain-of-custody are included as EXHIBIT K.
The laboratory results of those analyzes are summarized on TABLE
III ; copies of the laboratory reports and chain-of-custody are
' included as EXHIBIT J.
On May 7, 1993, the wellhead elevations of the three wells were
9
