The groundwater in the vicinity of the site is unconfined Groundwater eleN ation at the site varies from a wet year high of 7 feet bgs to about 35-40 feet bgs during the previous drought period Groundwater flow direction at the site has generally been to the west since December 1997 QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING 918199 WEGE and Putman Well Purging (PWP) persormel collected quarterly groundwater samples from the five monitor wells at the site on September 8, 1999 See Appendix A for QA/QC, details, methods, procedures, abbreviations, and acronyms used in sampling and analysis DEPTH TO WATER MEASUREMENTS Depth to water was measured at all wells on September 8, 1999 The measurements were made from the surveyed elevation at the top of casing at each well using an electrical air/water interface probe (Table 1) No free product or product sheen was observed in any of the monitor wells COLLECTION AND CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER S�kMPLES Following depth to water measurements, WEGE and PWP personnel used a truck mounted vacuum lift pump and dedicated one inch diameter PVC tubing to purge each well of three volumes of water After purging, the wells were allowed to reco-,er to at least 80% of their original «°ell volumes A groundwater sample was then collected from each well with a polyethylene bailer and decanted with no headspace into two 40 ml VOA vials containing 0 5 ml HCL acid as a preservative The samples were delivered with accompanying chain of custody documentation to North State Environmental Laboratories (NSE) The certified laboratory (DHS 91753) analyzed the water samples from each monitor well for concentrations of TPH-G using EPA method 8015 modified and BTEX and MTBE using EPA method 8020 DISPOSITION OF WASTEWATER The approximately 68 gallons of wastewater that was purged from the monitor wells was contained on-site in labeled 55 gallon DOT approved drums r� 2 Sanchez QM 7-9 1999
