The results of that work revealed that the limits of the soil & groundwater plumes had been located to the east and south TABLE II summarizes the results of the soil sample analyzes from that work Refer to WJH report titled "INTERIM ASSESSMENT REPORT & RESULTS OF GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION" dated October 25, 1994 for complete details December 8, 1995 - Seven (7) shallow soil/water strataprobe holes were placed to the west and north of the property in order to establish the limits of contamination in those directions Details of that work are given in the WJH report titled "NINTH QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT, INCLUDING RESULTS OF SOIL/WATER PROBE INVESTIGATION" , dated January 12 , 1996 RESULTS OF LATEST WORK On February 25 , 1997 , Wm J Hunter, RG from Wm J Hunter & Associates, arrived at the site at 081.5 hours & checked the locations previously marked for the soil probe locations A Transglobal Environmental Geochemistry (TEG) strata-probe truck operated by Kurt Koldinger was on location unloading equipment After discussing the workplan, the truck was mobilized on location SP-A as shown on PLATE III Work started at 0905 hours; a modified split-spoon sample chamber was attached to 5 foot lengths of 2" diameter hollow steel threaded pipe The pipe was pushed and hammered to 5 ' bgl, and a core was taken from 5 ' -616" The pipe was retrieved, the sample chamber removed and placed on a clean flat surface It was carefully opened by the geologist, the metal sleeves were removed and laid out for examination One tube was promptly preserved by covering the ends with teflon tape and plastic end caps & sealing with duct tape The sample was labeled and placed on ice in a closed chest The remaining portions of the core were described and noted on the field log The equipment and core barrel were decontaminated with Alconox and clean water; new metal tubes were inserted in the sample chamber, which was attached to the bottom of the drill pompe Tools were advanced to 10 ' below grade, and a core was taken from 1.0 ' -1116}' The sample chamber was removed and handled as described above After cleaning equipment, the tools were advanced to 15 ' below grade, and a core was taken from 15 ' -16 ' 6" It was handled and preserved by the same procedures described above After finishing the hole, it was grouted to the surface with a cement/bentonite slurry Refer to PLATE V-A for details of lithology & other pertinent data The probe truck was repositioned over the spot marked for SP-B, 3
