minor amounts of BTEX & TPHg, MTBE was absent
SP-C; All samples were ND
SP-D, Samples at 6 ' & 12 ' were ND, , BTEX & TPHg were measured in
the samples from 16 ' & 21 ' MTBE was absent in all samples .
SP-E, The soil samples at 6 ' and 26 ' were ND The samples from
111 , 161 , and 21 ' recorded BTEX & TPHg; the levels at 16 " were
the highest of any of the soil samples MTBE was ND This probe
hole was between the two pump islands, which appeared to have
been a major source of contamination.
SP F, The sample at 6 ' was ND The ones at 11 ' & 16 , recorded
varying amounts of BTEX & TPHg, with the highest levels at 16 '
MTBE was ND
SP-G; Samples at 61 , 111 , & 21' were ND Benzene was measured at
. 014 mg/kg in the sample from 161 , all other components were ND .
MTBE was also ND
The highest levels of contamination were encountered in SP-E,
SP-F, and SP-D, with lesser amounts in SP-B & SP-G
Using the data from the lithologi.c plots, 6 cross-sections were
constructed through the soil probes and monitoring wells, their
locations are shown on PLATE IV Those cross-sections are
identified as follows - A-B is PLATE VI-A, C-D is PLATE VI-B, E-F
is PLATE VI-C, G-H is PLATE VI-D, I-J is PLATE VI-E, and K-L is
1 PLATE VI-F. The results of the laboratory analyses from the soil
samples are shown on each cross-section
' PLATE VTI-A shows the laboratory results from soil samples taken
at 6 ' bgl ; all were ND PLATE VII-B shows the lab results of
soil samples taken from 11 ' -121 ; only SP-E & SP-F measured any
'
contamination at that depth PLATE VII-C shows lab results of
soil samples in the 14-16 ' interval SP-B, SP-D, SP-E, SP-F,
SP-G, and monitoring wells MW-1 & MW-3 revealed varying amounts
of BTEX & TPHg This depth range had the greatest areal extent
' PLATE VII-D shows the results in the interval 21 ' -231 , only SP-D,
SP-E, & MW-3 recorded readings SP-A, B, & C did not penetrate
to that depth PLATE VII-E shows lab results at the 25-26 '
' depth; only SP-E & MW-1 & MW-2 had sample analyses at that depth,
they were ND.
' SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED
The work completed to date can be summarized as follows
5
