GROUNDWATER DISCHARGE ATTACHMENT
PART C - PUMPING PLAN
I SECTION C9 PUMPING PLAN
Three periods of pumping are to occur at the site
• The first period will be a series of pump tests
• The second period will be pumping to de-water the site prior to over excavation of the
hydrocarbon contamination
• The third period will be maintaining the groundwater level during excavation
1 7 Pump Tests
The pump tests will be performed over a one week penod The test will be performed by placing
a variable speed grunfose pump in each of the wells to be tested and pumping the ground"A ater
through carbon for discharge to the sanitary sewer
1 Day one, a step drawdown test will be performed on RW 1 A Pumping rate will start at one
gallon per minute and increased to six gallons per minute The test will last 8 to 10 hours
after which the formation will be allowed to recover overnight
2 Day two, a step drawdown test will be performed on RW I B Pumping rate will start at one
gallon per minute and increased to six gallons per minute The test will last 8 to 10 hours after
which the formation will be allowed to recover overnight
3 Day three, a constant rate pump test will be performed on MW6A The test will be
performed at a rate of between one to five gallons per minute depending on the results of the
step drawdown test in RW i A The test will last 24 hours, after which the formation will be
allowed to recovery one day
4 Day Five, a constant rate pump test will be preformed on MW6B The test will be performed
at a rate of five gallons per minute The test will last 24 hours, after which the formation will
be allowed to recovery one day
5 Day eight, a leakage test will be performed on MW7A During the test the well will be
pumped at a rate of five gallons per minute for approximately 8 hours
2 PUMPING FOR DEWATERING
After the pump tests have been evaluated, an attempt will be made to de-water the site The de-
watering of the site will facilitate the over-excavation of the most highly contaminated soil
1
PART C PUMPING PLAN
1875 COUNTRY CLUB BLVD
