THIRD QUARTER REPORT
KWIKEE FOODS
2081 Country Club Boulevard
Stockton, California
October 6, 1998
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Groundwater monitoring was performed on August 25, 1998. Water samples were collected from
all three monitor wells and were transported to Sequoia Analytical for analysis of gasoli ie, BTEX,
and 6 gasoline oxygenates.
The depth to groundwater in the three monitoring wells was measured with a Solinst Nvater level
meter, and a battery-operated purge pump was used to purge the wells of standing water. Between
seventeen and thirty-seven gallons of water were removed from the wells and storec; in DOT-
approved drums on site. After purging, water samples were collected in glass vials and transported
to the laboratory.
In contrast to previous quarters, the present groundwater gradient is due north, at 0.025 ft/ft. This
is the first time the gradient has been northward, and the reason for this change is unknown_
Aged gasoline was detected in each well, but at much lower concentrations than in previous events,
and some volatile compounds (BTEX) were not detected. This is a continuation of th,: decrease
observed in May 1998. The reason for the decrease is uncertain, but may be related to the change in
gradient, the high water table, or removal of the source of contaminants(the USTs were removed in
the first quarter of 1998).
I
1
