Brett Hunter, Chevron page 2
2103 Country Club Blvd, Stockton.
PHS-EHD hereby directs you to submit by August 11, 1997, a work plan to
actively investigate and delineate the petroleum soil and groundwater plumes
and proposes investigating another remedial alternative that will adequately
protect human health, safety, and the environment and will restore or protect
current and potential beneficial uses of water. With this information, a Corrective
Action Plan can be submitted that includes a Feasibility Study as required by the
Corrective Action Requirements.
Until further notified by PHS-EHD, Chevron is hereby directed to perform quarterly
monitoring and sampling of all of the monitoring wells associated with this site and
submit the report of findings by the fifteenth (15`") of the month following the quarter's
end. TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE are to sampled for from each well.
On April 24, 1997, PHS-EHD received a copy of a request for Chevron to access the
monitoring wells located at 2081 Country Club Blvd. Unless access to those wells is
obtained by August 1 , 1997, Chevron is to include in the work plan due by August 11 ,
1997, a proposal to place additional monitoring wells to delineate the plume from the
Chevron site in that direction.
PHS-EHD has concluded that Chevron has had more than adequate time to evaluate
this site and it's need for remediation. PHS-EHD will require Chevron to now take
assertive steps to comply with the requirements of the Underground Tank
Regulations/Corrective Action Requirements and implement methods to remediate this
site.
Please continue to address your submittals and any questions you may have to Michael
Infurna or you may call him at (209) 468-3454.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
,,-4
Michael Infurna Jr., Senior REHS Margare Lagono, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
MI/
c: Ron Berberian - 2021 W.
