As agreed during the telephone conversation, the dual vapor
extraction (DVE) and air sparge (AS) systems and associated conveyance piping will be removed
from the site. SECOR may propose destroying some or all wells associated with the DVE and AS
systems. If the destruction of wells is necessary, SECOR will submit a work plan detailing the wells
to be destroyed and the rational for their destruction.
In addition, SECOR will reevaluate the distribution of hydrocarbons in the shallow subsurface. The
evaluation may require an additional soil investigation. If additional investigation activities are
necessary, SECOR will submit a work plan detailing proposed activities.
SECOR will also evaluate potential remedial alternatives for the site, which may require feasibility
testing. If additional feasibility testing activities are necessary, SECOR will submit a work plan
detailing proposed activities. Based on the distribution of hydrocarbons and results of possible
feasibility testing, SECOR will submit a revised corrective action plan (CAP). SECOR anticipates
that the revised CAP will be submitted during the second quarter 2004.
If you have any questions or comments about the contents of this letter, please contact David Evans
of SECOR at (916) 861-0400 extension 234, or Bob Cochran of Chevron at(925) 842-9655.
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
Zvi M.
