The County has requested,
pursuant to California Underground Storage Tank (UST) Regulations, a non-technical
summary of the CAP to advise the public prior to corrective actions. This CAP mandates
that impacted soil be removed around the former USTs at the site. A limited excavation
will remove impacted soil between approximately 9 and 23 feet below ground surface
(bgs), up to a volume of approximately 2,000 cubic yards. The excavation process will
last approximately 21 days. Throughout the process, a photo ionization detector (PID)
will be utilized to continuously monitor the perimeter of the site for organic vapors.
SECOR will install a protective barrier around the perimeter of the site to ensure public
safety. Additionally, a vapor suppression and dust control system will be in place to
avoid nuisance emmissions.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the contents of this letter, please feel
free to contact David Evans of SECOR at (916) 861-0400 extension 234 or Bob Cochran
of Chevron at (925) 842-9655.
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
J (an Jacks6p' 75— David M.
