Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 4:10 PM
To: 'Tim Cuellar'
Cc: 'rmarty@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: Blvd Auto
Regarding your phone call today about a revised work plan due at the
EHD November 9, 2009 as noted in EHD correspondence dated October 8, 2009, 1
have reviewed the information and offer the following to clear up any
misunderstandings.
The original work plan dated 29 December 2008 called for 4 Geoprobes (P-17 to P-
20). The work plan called for investigation down to HU-2 (50' bgs).
The EHD comment letter for this work plan is dated March 23, 2009 and on page
two asked for a revision by April 3, 2009 that addresses the EHD concerns of
continued lateral and vertical gw plume definition. We didn't like the limited depth of
only HU-2.
although at the time the contamination noted in MW-11 chambers was somewhat
defined further NW by MW-13, and MW-14, and MW-8, the EHD was concerned
with the gap between MW-7 & MW-8.
although P-20 somewhat addresses this area, the depth proposed doesn't. HU-4
needs to be investigated also in the gap.
A revision was to address this.
P-20, if ND for all depths of concern and the gw plume direction is not towards the
NNW, then for the time being the investigation in this quadrant can be
considered adequate. But if the gradient continues to be NW, both Nuel and I feel
with such a large area not being monitored between MW-8 and MW-19, additional
wells will be required to investigate this gap.
with the gw direction moving from historically NE to NW, the contam in MW-11 C
and MW-19 contamination is really not characterized/delineated to the north. Draw
a line from the SW, MW-8 to the NE, MW-23. There are NO monitoring points in
the whole hemisphere north of this line except shallow MW-7. and the contam in
MW-11 and MW-19 is already deeper than MW-7 screened interval.
if P-20 gets hits, you'll be putting in MWs there real soon.
So YES...send me a small revision that includes HU-4 investigation/gw grabs in P-
17 thru P-20. any MORE proposed borings can be included in the revision if you
see the need.
10/23/2009
