Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Neely, Joe []neely@craworld .com]
Sent: Tuesday, April 08, 2008 2:59 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: Former Shell at 2575 Country Club, Stockton - GWE system status
Mike:
Just a quick email to update you on the status of our GWE system at this site.
The system is currently shut off because we detected a TBA discharge exceedance and we are
currently investigating this incident for Shell and the City of Stockton (discharge permit agency) .
We identified the need for a carbon change out on March 12th , shutdown the system on March 13th
and completed a carbon change out on March 25th then restarted the system . The City required we
sample the system prior to shutdown on March 13th . The analytical data collected on March 13th
indicated TBA was present in the effluent. This lab data was received on March 27th , after the carbon
change out had already been completed . Due to the anomalous TBA detection we shutdown the GWE
system until while we investigate the incident.
We are required to submit a corrective action report to the City by April 28th , and then implement the
corrective action (s) prior to restarting the system . We plan to submit our corrective action report to the
City on or prior to April 15th . We will resume full time operation of the system as soon as possible .
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this .
r
I Regards,
i
Joe W.
