I recommend a slight slope so a thin grout will settle at the deep end then
fill the pipe completely (minimum air space and conduit) as it pours in. Assuming you are
NOT planning on removing the piping completely , that is.
From : Neely, Joe [mailto:jneely@cambria-env.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 10, 2006 2 : 47 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: denis.l.brown@shell.com
Subject: Former Shell at 2575 Country Club, Stockton - GW Extr, system work
Mike:
Just a quick update on the progress of this GWE system upgrade. . .
We held a pre-construction meeting on Aug 1 , 2006 with our contractor and the new property owner. After
discussing the project with the owner he expressed a preference for us to do some of our trenching prior to him
repaving the site. We agreed to do this since this portion of the work falls outside of the city building permit
requirements, and it would save us a little time/cost because we would not have to saw-cut and repave the
trenches.
This work involved trenching to MW-5R, MW-17, and connecting MW-18 to the existing piping run. Remediation
piping was installed in the trenches and the trenches were backfilled . Our contractor will likely finish up this
trenching work this week and then we will wait to hear from the city regarding our building permit. The remainder
of the work we have to do will take place behind the station building.
Regards,
Joe
8/15/2006
