Jeff Granberry ' <br /> 18 September 26, 1995 ( 9447-8620) <br /> Fugro personnel hand augered one soil boring beneath the eastern canopy (HAI) to 6 fbg <br /> on June 7, 1995 This boring was advanced to define the vertical extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons indicated in the laboratory analysis of soil sample PES-1 5 (Figure 3) Soil <br /> samples were collected at 3 5 and 6 fbg under the direction of a SJCPHS/EHD <br /> representative <br /> Fugro installed pipeline conduits connected to wells MW-5 and RW-IA (Figure 2) for the <br /> potential use of a vapor extraction system (VES) A VES may or may not be used at the <br /> site <br /> Excavated soils containing petroleum hydrocarbons were loaded directly onto trucks <br /> operated by Manley and Sons Trucking (Manley Trucking) of Sacramento, California, and <br /> hauled to Forward Landfill (Forward) in Manteca, California On occasion, it became <br /> necessary to temporarily store excavated soil on site, on and beneath plastic sheeting All <br /> excavated soil containing petroleum hydrocarbons (approximately 2,090 yd') has been <br /> removed from the site The calculated petroleum hydrocarbons mass removed with the <br /> soil was approximately 1,106 gallons <br /> • 20 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description and Background <br /> The site is located on the northeast corner of Country Club Boulevard and Plymouth Road <br /> in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California The site is located within a mixed <br /> commercial/residential area of Stockton <br /> The SOPS for the investigative work performed at the site by Fugro, are included in <br /> Appendix A The following is a brief summary of investigative work performed to date at the <br /> site <br /> December 7. 1994 the SJCPHS/EHD was notified by Shell of a suspected product loss <br /> from an underground regular-unleaded fuel storage tank at the site The loss was due to <br /> corrosion of the southern regular unleaded UST, which is part of two 5,000-gallon USTs <br /> manifolded together The total release was estimated to be approximately 8,500 gallons <br /> Three other USTs existed on site two 8,000-gallon USTs containing mid-grade and super <br /> unleaded gasoline, and one 550-gallon waste-oil UST As requested by Shell, Fugro <br /> performed a reconnaissance on the site and in the vicinity of the site to determine if there <br /> were any local above- or below-ground receptors or conduits No apparent receptors or <br /> conduits were observed near the fuel tanks In addition, Fugro reviewed files at the <br /> California Department of Water Resources to locate water wells within a 2,000-foot radius <br /> . of the site The results of the file review are presented on Figure 1 and Table 1 <br /> 94478620 ARI' 4- <br />
