� CABRA <br /> Extracted groundwater is pumped from the storage tank, using a transfer <br /> pump, through a silt filter and then through three 1,200-pound <br /> aqueous-phase carbon vessels(in series)prior to discharge to the sanitary <br /> sewer blow meters, pressure gauges, sample ports, and a lower <br /> explosion limit (LEL) monitor were installed to control and monitor <br /> system operation A telephone autodialer was installed to remotely notify <br /> Cambria of system shutdown events <br /> GWE SYSTEM START-UP <br /> Start-up was conducted in accordance with the City of Stockton wastewater discharge permit <br /> conditions On May 31, 2000, the GWE system was operated for approximately three hours for the <br /> purpose of collecting start-up samples Approximately 200 gallons of groundwater was processed <br /> Samples were collected before the first carbon vessel (influent), before and after the second carbon <br /> vessel (midfluentl and midfluent2), and after the third carbon vessel (effluent) All samples were <br /> analyzed total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> . xylenes (BTEX), and MTBE by EPA method 8260 Effluent samples were also analyzed for trace <br /> metals and pH as specified by the wastewater discharge permit All analytes were reported below the <br /> discharge limitations The analytical report(Attachment B)was submitted to the City of Stockton on <br /> June 18, 2001 Start-up of the GWE system occurred on June 20, 2001 <br /> PLANNED ACTIVITIES <br /> O&H Visits Periodic site visits will be conducted to perform routine system <br /> maintenance, record meter readings, and measure well parameters <br /> Monthly GWE system samples will be collected before the first carbon <br /> vessel (influent), before and after the second carbon vessel (midfluentl <br /> and midfluent2),and after the third carbon vessel(effluent) Wastewater <br /> discharge permit compliance samples will be collected and analyzed as <br /> specified by the permit The system data will be reviewed to evaluate <br /> system effectiveness and, if needed, system optimization modifications <br /> will be recommended <br /> Reporting System data will be provided with the quarterly monitoring reports Self- <br /> monitonng reports will be provided to the City of Stockton as specified <br /> by the wastewater discharge permit <br /> 3 <br />
