This anomalous occurrence of toluene without any of the other compounds associated with gasoline
may not be due to the petroleum hydrocarbon release that has occurred at the subject site Additional
monitoring of this well will be performed to collect more data for further analysis
Domestic Water Wells
Ground water samples collected from the domestic wells located at 2452 Country Club Boulevard,
2454 Country Club Boulevard, 2456 Country Club Boulevard, and 2472 Country Club Boulevard have
not contained detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons or oxygenate compounds The
domestic well located at 2468 Country Club Boulevard is the only domestic well in this area that has
contained detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons and oxygenate compounds and
VOCs
Data collected during this investigation do not indicate that the contaminants detected in the well
located at 2468 Country Club Boulevard are the result of the petroleum hydrocarbon release at the
subject site Sampling of three of the domestic wells located between the subject site and the well at
2468 Country Club Boulevard has not identified the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons or
oxygenate compounds Deep Wells MW-13 and MW-14 and shallow wells MW-10 and MW-11,
which do not contain TPPH, benzene or oxygenate compounds, are also located between the subject
site and the well located at 2468 Country Club Boulevard The absence of these contaminants in
these intermediate wells indicates that migration between the source areas located on the Shell site
and the well at 2468 Country Club Boulevard is not occuring
CONCLUSIONS
Ground water contaminants appear to be concentrated on-site in the area of the former UST
complex Monitoring wells surrounding the release site indicate that significant concentrations of
contaminants have not migrated far from the original release site It does not appear that the deeper
water bearing zone has been impacted by the release in the former UST complex at the subject site
REMEDIAL ALTERNATIVES
CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN OBJECTIVES
Corrective Action Plan objectives are typically based on one or more of the following criteria
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) for
drinking water,
240-0783 19
