r <br /> October 24, 1997 <br /> Alex Perez <br /> Shell Oil Products Company <br /> P O Box 4023 <br /> Concord, California 94524 <br /> RE- Domestic Well Sampling - Cal Trans Well <br /> Southwest Corner of Country Club Blvd. @ Plymouth Road <br /> Shell Service Station <br /> 2575 Country Club Boulevard <br /> Stockton, California <br /> WIC 204-7524-3505 <br /> Dear Mr Perez <br /> This letter documents the results of ground water sampling activities performed on behalf <br /> of Shell Oil Products Company (Shell) within the Cal Trans right of way located at the <br /> southwest corner of Country Club Boulevard and Plymouth Road, Stockton, California <br /> (Plate 1) An irrigation water well exists on this property which is located in the vicinity of <br /> the above referenced Shell Service Station Collection of ground water samples from wells <br /> • in the vicinity of the Shell Service Station was requested by San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services (SJCPHS) to determine if nearby wells have been impacted by petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons <br /> Procedures <br /> Ground water samples were collected from the well on September 5, 1997 Ground water <br /> sampling was performed by Blaine Tech Services (Blaine) of San Jose, California The <br /> sampling procedures consisted of gauging the well and collecting a sample through a <br /> gauging port located at the top of the well <br /> The water sample was collected in an appropriate container, and transferred to Sequoia <br /> Analytical of Redwood City, California, a state-certified laboratory, for analysis The <br /> ground water sample was analyzed for Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline according to EPA Method 8015 (modified), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, <br /> xylenes (BTEX), and methyl-tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) according to EPA Method 8020, <br /> and oxygenate compounds including methanol, ethanol, tertiary butanol, di-isopropyl <br /> ether, ethyl tertiary butyl ether, and tertiary amyl methyl ether Analysis for methanol was <br /> performed by EPA Method 8015 (modified) and the other oxygenates were analyzed by <br /> EPA Method 8260 <br /> Findings <br /> According to Cal Trans representatives, the well is used for irrigation along the <br /> freeway The well is not used during winter months <br /> • <br /> 6nvfroa, Inc 270 Perkins Street Sonoma Calrtornra Tel 707/935 4850 <br /> p 0 Box 259 95476 0259 Fax 707/935 6549 <br />
