Each
well was purged prior to sampling by removing approximately three well volumes of water. After
purging and after the water levels were allowed to stabilize,a water sample was collected from each
monitoring well using a clean plastic disposable bailer. Ground water sampling procedures are
described in Enclosure A.
Ground water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 on
December 13, 1991,were submitted to a state-certified laboratory for analysis of benzene,toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline by
U. S.Environmental Protection Agency and California Department of Health Services approved
methods. Analytical results for ground water samples collected since August 23, 1991,are compiled
in Table 2. Copies of the certified laboratory reports for the December 13, 1991,sampling event
are included in Enclosure B.
