Methods used to drill the soil borings
jt
and collect soil samples are described in Appendix A.
One soil sample collected from the saturated zone was submitted for sieve analysis. Sieve test data and a
i' gn dation curve are included in Appendix G
%nit_ orittt Wells
E
Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 were constructed o[4-inch-diameter, Schedule 40 polyvinyl
` chloride(PVC)casing. Monitoring well construction details are included in Appendix D The monitoring
wells were developed and sampled in accordance with the methods described in Appendix A. A ground
water sample was collected from each well and submitted for laboratory analysis of benzene, toluene,
ethyl'oenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline by U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)and California Department of Health Services(DHS)approved
methods,
r Depth to ground water in the monitoring wells was measured on August 23 and 29, 1991. Ground water
level measurements indicate the direction of ground water flow across the site is to the northeast with a
gradient of approximately 0.002-Foot per foot. Ground water level measurements are compiled in Table 2-
A ground water elevation contour map, prepared from the data recorded on August 29.199I,is included as
Figure 4.
RPT00?BP
