101; <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Delta Suite 200 <br /> *///4kRancha Cordova, GA 95670 <br /> Environmental 9161638-2085 <br /> Consultants,Inc. � �y�� � FAX 9161638-8385 <br /> May 8, 1996 <br /> J U L 2 41996 <br /> Ms Marla Guensler DWRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> PERMITlSEl2VICE5 <br /> Exxon Company U S A <br /> 2300 Clayton Road, Suite 640 <br /> Concord, California 94520 <br /> Subject Soil Excavation and Sampling Results <br /> Exxon Service Station No 7-3708 <br /> 2705 Country Club Boulevard <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Delta Project No D093-809 <br /> Dear Ms Guensler <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta), has been authorized by Exxon Company U S A <br /> (Exxon) to observe the excavation of a new tank basin and collect confirmation soil and ground water <br /> samples during excavation activities at Exxon Service Station No 7-3708 located at 2705 Country <br /> Club Boulevard, Stockton, San Joaquin County, California The site is shown in Figure 1 and site <br /> features are illustrated in Figure 2 All field work conducted by Delta was performed in accordance <br /> to Delta's Soil Management Work Plan and Addendum to Soil Management Work Plan, dated October <br /> 27 and November 20, 1995, respectively <br /> Excavation of New Tank Basin <br /> On December 27 and 28, 1995, a representative from Delta was on-site to observe Walton <br /> Engineering of Sacramento excavate the new tank basin area Approximately 550 cubic yards of soil <br /> were generated during the excavation Following excavation activities, confirmation soil samples <br /> Tank Pit-1 through Tank Pit-4 were collected from the side walls of new tank cavity The limits of <br /> the excavation and the locations of the soil samples are shown on Figure 3 Additionally, a grab <br /> water sample (Pit Water) was collected from ground water which accumulated in the base of the <br /> excavation Soil and ground water samples collected on December 28 and 29, 1995, were submitted <br /> to Sequoia Analytical (a California-certified laboratory) for chemical analysis of benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), using EPA Method 8020, and total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> (TPH) as gasoline using EPA Method 8015 Modified <br /> Analytical results for soil samples collected on December 28, 1995, are summarized in Table 1 and <br /> analytical results for the grab water sample is summarized in Table 2 Copies of the laboratory <br /> analytical reports with chain of custody documentation are included in Enclosure A <br /> Overexcavation Activities <br /> On December 29, 1995, a Delta representative observed the overexcavation of the northern end of <br /> the new tank basin area Overexcavation was conducted to remove soil containing petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons <br /> Providing a Competitive Edge <br />
