(SECOR)on behalf of 7-Eleven Corporation. The Report supplements
the 22 July 2004 and 31 August 2004 pilot study work plan Field Test Program for Evaluation of Oxidation
Capacity of Groundwater(Workplan) with a geochemical evaluation of one soil sample, as required by my letter
of 4 October 2004. The Workplan proposes batch oxygen injection into a new 2"well (I-1)from a compressed
gas bottle into the aquifer,to enhance the bio-degradation of petroleum hydrocarbons. The Report concludes:
"Based on the soil analysis and evaluation of the data, there are no constituents present in the soil that, if
oxidized by injection of oxygen, will produce detrimental impacts to groundwater quality or aquifer
characteristics."
The pilot study is approved as written with the following conditions:
• During the Pilot Study phase, groundwater sampling and analyses for constituents of concern, including
metals and general minerals, will be conducted in injection well I-1 and monitoring well MW-1
immediately before each oxygen injection, and after each oxygen injection.
• Install a data logger in MW-1 to record changes in dissolved oxygen,pH, specific conductance, and
temperature during the Pilot Sfudy. The test data will be helpful to determine the effectiveness of oxygen
injection.
Please procure the appropriate drilling permits prior to mobilization, and provide San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department and myself at least 3 working days notice prior to commencement of
fieldwork.
