S E C O R
7-Eleven Store#94117
Field Test for Evaluation of Oxidation Capacity of Groundwater
July 22, 2004
Page 7
DATA EVALUATION AND INTERPRETATION
Following one month of oxygen injection (2 events) during which two sets of post-injection
groundwater samples will have been collected and analyzed for general inorganic
constituents, SECOR will compile and evaluate the analytical data to assess potential
impacts to groundwater quality due to oxygen injection If products of injected oxygen
reacting with groundwater are detrimental to groundwater quality, as evidenced by
comparison with baseline groundwater chemistry, then oxygen injection will cease and
other remedial methods will be considered However, if little or no change to groundwater
quality is evident, oxygen injection will continue
REPORTING
SECOR will prepare a report evaluating the effect of oxygen injection on the water quality in
the injection well and MW-1 The report will specify inorganic constituents that will continue
to be included during future sampling events, e g , Cr*' or other constituents of concern, or
constituents that show a marked change in concentration relative to baseline chemistry but
are not considered health risks In addition, the report will present applicable chemical
equations showing products of oxygen injection reacting with groundwater constituents
and/or aquifer lithologies, estimates of potential dissolved solids mobilized, and discussion
of noted changes in groundwater pH
Groundwater sample analytical results, field parameter measurements (pH, dissolved
oxygen, ferrous iron), total oxygen injected, presented in tabular form, will be included, as
well as field notes and tabulated amounts purged during each event
SECOR will begin scheduling well installation activities as soon as this work plan is
approved by the RWQCB
If you have questions or comments regarding this work plan, please contact us at(916)
861-0400
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
Zp GS
[)AIEL J. —
Darnel J Davis, R G 0 I S
Senior Geologist > r
No. 6435
Jaff Auchterlonie F OFC ALFO
Senior Geologist
14117 Field Test Oxidation capacity doc SECOR lntematronal Incorporated
