Underground Storage Tank Removal Report and Work Plan for Additional Site Investigation <br /> Southland Store#14117 2725 Country Club Boulevardt Stockton Califomia September29 1998 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc has prepared this report summanzwg underground storage tank(UST) <br /> ' replacement activities conducted at the Southland Store No 14117 located at 2725 Country Club <br /> Boulevard, Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2) The scope of work Included <br /> ' 1) Collection and analysts of sod and groundwater samples from excavations of the former <br /> and new USTs at the site (Table 1) <br /> ' 2) Dewatenng of the new-tank excavation to allow for the installation of the new USTs <br /> 3) Installation of conductor casing in the new-tank excavation <br /> ' 4) Removal and off-site disposal of soils generated during the removal of former USTs <br /> and installation of the new USTs <br /> The sod sampling was conducted In accordance with the Tri-Regional Guidelines and under the <br /> direction and observation of Mr Michael Kith and Mr Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services (SJCPHS) The UST removal, soil excavation, and installation of new upgraded USTs <br /> was conducted by Pacific Engineenng,working under the direction of the Maness Corporation Field <br /> notes are Included In Appendix A <br /> In addition, this report presents a work plan for additional investigation at the subject site as requested <br /> by the SJCPHS to determine the extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and groundwater beneath the <br /> site The scope of work includes drilling and sampling of fifteen soil borings, collection of groundwater <br /> samples from each boring, and preparation of an assessment report summarizing the methods and <br /> results of the work performed In addition, a well canvass will be conducted to locate all water supply <br /> ' wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site <br /> 2.0 PERMITTING/SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI conducted a technical review of all relevant Information prior to proceeding with soil <br /> sampling and UST removal Applications for permits to remove the USTs were filed by the <br /> construction contractor and approved by the SJCPHS <br /> ' Following a complete review of site conditions, Fluor Daniel GTI prepared a site-specific Health and <br /> Safety Plan as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response"guidelines(29 CFR 1910 120) The <br /> document was reviewed and signed by all Fluor Daniel GTI personnel prior to commencement of work <br /> at the site <br /> 14117urt rpt <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br />
