(AGE) has prepared the enclosed work plan for the abandonment of four <br /> ground water monitoring wells at 3800 West Country Club Boulevard, Stockton, California <br /> (the site). <br /> Also enclosed are well destruction permits and the associated permit fees. Abandonment procedures <br /> will be scheduled upon approval of this work plan. <br /> INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND <br /> Four two-inch diameter ground water monitoring wells (MW1 through MW4) located at the site <br /> were part of a subsurface investigation of the former underground storage tank (UST) area. <br /> Monitoring wells MW1, MW3 and MW-4 were installed to maximum depths of 25 feet below <br /> surface grade (bsg); MW2 was installed to a maximum depth of 20 feet bsg. The monitoring wells <br /> were installed using 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers. The location of the site is illustrated in <br /> Figure 1. A site plan is illustrated in Figure 2. In accordance with the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Service - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) requirements, all wells must be <br /> properly abandoned to obtain final site closure.
