Sample Withdrawal Water samples will be collected from the monitoring well using a new, pre-cleaned disposable polyethylene bailer. These bailers are disposed of after one use and require no decontaminating, thereby minimizing cross contamination due to sampling devices. Samples will be drawn and collected in such a manner that agitation and exposure of the groundwater to the atmosphere is minimal. Sample containers will be filled using the appropriate disposable sampling attachment which allows controlled flow out of the bottom of the bailer by lifting the check valve. 4.6.4. Sample Handling _ Ground water samples will be collected into laboratory-supplied containers. Ground water samples for TPH-g. TPH-d, BTEX and fuel oxygenate (EPA 8260) analyses will be collected into 40-1111 VOA vials containing 0.5-m1 of hydrochloric acid as preservative and into one-liter amber bottles xvith no preservative. Following collection the samples will be appropriately labeled and placed on ice and kept in a cooler until delivered to the laboratory for analysis. Chain-of-custody protocols will be used to document sample custody transfer from the field to the analytical laboratory. A chain-of- custody form NN-ill accompany the samples. 4.7. RECEPTOR SURVEY A search for all potential ground water conduits within a 2,000-foot radius of the site will consist of the following: • A search of driller's water well logs on file with the Department of Water Resources; • A reconnaissance of visually observable potential receptors; • A search for City for Stockton municipal well locations with Cal-Water; • A search for San Joaquin County water well locations with PHS-EHD; • A search for federal water wells with the Bureau of Reclamation; • A search for septic systems with the San Joaquin County Solid Waste Program.
