INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. David Morris of the Stockton Golf and Country Club,
Advcrncecl GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Site Investigation Work Plan for the
collection of soil and ground water samples at 3800 West Country Club Boulevard, Stockton,
California. The scope of work initially includes the advancement of six soil probe borings near the
former underground storage tank(UST) excavations and collection of soil and "grab" ground water
samples. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 - Location Mai. A plan of the site is
illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plcm.
This Work Plan is prepared in accordance with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EKD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (RWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of UST sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
The site is located in an area of low topographic relief in the city of Stockton, San Joaquin County,
California, west of the intersection of Country Club Boulevard and Ranier Avenue. 'The site area is
bordered to the north by the Calaveras River and to the south by the Stockton Deep Water Channel.
The site area has been utilized as a golf course for at least twenty years. The site is currently occupied
by one wood-frame warehouse-style structure.
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon gasoline and one-1,000 gallon diesel USTs were
removed from a maintenance shop area at the site in 1990. Furthermore, one 1,000-gallon gasoline
UST was removed frons a golf cart storage area at the site in 1990. Following the removal of the
USTs, soil samples were collected from beneath each UST and submitted for laboratory analysis. The
results of the analysis indicated that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had occurred in both
UST areas.
22. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC SETTING
According to the Geologic Map of CaliforHia, published in 1977 by the State of California
Department of Mines and Geology, the site area is within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of
California, a large, elongate, northwest trending structural trough. The Great Valley Province has
been filled to its present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to
present day, creating a nearly flat lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
