i
J
LOF Glass
i
Libbey-Owens-Ford Company
November 17, 1986
Mr . Gordon Boggs
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3201 S Street
Sacramento, California 95316-7090
Dear Mr . Boggs:
Please find enclosed our consultant' s report , SUBSURFACE
GASOLINE CONTAMINATION REMEDIAL ASSESSMENT. We concur with the
conclusions and recommendations of this report .
As stated in the report we are anxious to complete the
installation of the inventory reconciliation system for the 5000
gallon existing tank and pour the concrete slab at the excavation
site before the coming rains endanger the existing tank . We will
be backfilling the excavation site this week and are planning to
pour concrete the week of November 24th .
We have implemented a monitoring program for MW-17 and MW-18
which includes monthly examination for free product and
measurements of ground water elevations. Every six months MW-18
will be analyzed for contamination . You will be notified should
any of these results indicate a problem.
We are confident that our actions and plans have removed the
major quantity of contamination and the threat to the existing
groundwater quality and that the impact of the contamination is
minimal and will remain very localized. Our monitoring program
will insure this. If you have any concerns or questions
regarding our program please do not hesitate to call Ron Quick at
C209) 858-5151 ,
Very truly yours,
-ems_
James A.Meyer
Plant Manager
Ronald Quick
Technical Services Coordinator
500 East Louise 1P.O.
