' PRELEYMARY <br /> ' REPORT <br /> STANDBY GENERATOR DIESEL SUPPLY LINE <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> ' Libbey Owens Ford Co. <br /> 500 East Louise Avenue <br /> ' Lathrop, California <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> ' Prepared by <br /> CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC. <br /> ' January 20, 1997 <br /> 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On December 3 and 4, 1996, Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. (Condor) conducted fieldwork <br /> to investigate the extent of diesel impacted soil and groundwater associated with the standby.generator <br /> ' diesel supply line located at the Libbey Owens Ford (LOF) site (Figures i and 2, Appendix A). The <br /> work included the placement of eleven (11) Geoprobe borings around the impacted area (Figure 3, <br /> ' Appendix A). Soil and groundwater samples were collected for field screening, chemical analysis, and <br /> geotechnical testing. The Geoprobe sampling was conducted by Vironex Environmental Services of <br /> Foster City, California, under supervision of a Condor geologist. This report was prepared by Condor <br /> at the request of LOF. <br /> 1 <br /> The work was conducted in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> ' Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD), and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CRWQCB) requirements. This report includes a brief site background, a description of the fieldwork, <br /> ' and a description and presentation of field observations and the laboratory analyses. <br /> ' 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> On July 24, 1996, an investigation was conducted to evaluate suspected leaking underground <br /> ' product piping associated with an above ground diesel tank and standby generator located at the LOF <br /> site. The excavation work was performed by Erickson Inc., of Richmond, California under the <br /> supervision of a Condor geologist.
