I,
Lichtenberger, Deborah
From: Vicki McCartney [EH] [mailto:vmccartney(a)sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, March 24, 2014 4:15 PM
To: Magee, Amanda
Cc: Manning, Danielle; Lichtenberger, Deborah
Subject: RE: 7-11 #20632, 4627 DaVinci Drive, Stockton
Amanda,
I will approve destroying nested well SPV-2 and monitoring well MW-2 at the 7-Eleven Store No. 2243-20632 at 4627
DaVinci Drive in Stockton by using a tremie pipe to insert the grout into the casings, then apply pressure at 125 psi for ten
minutes followed by removing the well box and adding more grout; then finish the top several inches of the hole with
asphalt. Since these wells appear to be so close (two to three feet)to underground utilities, the mushroom cap may be
omitted.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartneyCo)sicehd.com
From: Magee, Amanda [mailto:Amanda.Maaee@stantec.com]
Sent: Monday, March 24, 2014.1:23-PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Manning, Danielle; Lichtenberger, Deborah
Subject: 7-11 #20632, 4627 DaVinci Drive, Stockton
Hi Vicki,
Thank you for taking the time to chat with me regarding the well destruction at the above referenced
site. As I mentioned, monitoring well MW-2 and remediation well SPV-2 are both located close to
underground utilities, as shown.in the attached pictures. These wells are not in the source area, and
recent groundwater samples from MW-2 have only contained low concentrations of MtBE. I have
attached our soil and groundwater tables as well.Stantec proposes to pressure grout these wells to the
surface, remove the well box, and finish the surface with asphalt to match the existing driveway. Please
let me know if this is an acceptable proposal.
Thank you,
Amanda Magee, P.G.
Associate Geologist
Stantec
3017 Kilgore Road Suite 100 Rancho Cordova CA 95670-6150
Phone: (916) 384-0743
1
