Report on Additional Site Assessment and Sod Vapor Extraction Testing 2 <br /> 7-Eleven Store No 20632,4627 Da Vinci Drive Stockton CA August 14, 2002 <br /> 30 ADDITIONAL SOiL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT <br /> 31 Permitting/Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan <br /> Permits were obtained from the SJCPHS prior to drilling The existing site-specific Health and Safety <br /> Plan (as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard Hazardous Waste <br /> Operations and Emergency Response guidelines 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910 120)was used <br /> during recent activities The document was reviewed and signed by all company personnel and <br /> subcontractors prior to commencement of work at the site <br /> 32 Soil Boring, Monitoring Wells, and SVEIAS Well Installation <br /> On April 8 and 9, 2002, a Shaw E&i geologist under the direction of a California Registered Geologist <br /> supervised drilling activities at the site Drilling methods included direct-push Geoprobe methods using <br /> Macrocore sampling techniques and rotary drilling using hollow-stem augers The truck-mounted drill ng <br /> 6600 is designed to do both types of drilling direct push and rotary Drilling logs are enclosed in <br /> Appendix A <br /> One vertical delineation soil boring (SB-1)was drilled to a depth of 30 feet bg with a truck-mounted <br /> hydraulic Geoprobe drill rig Groundwater samples were then taken using a Hydropunch at depths of 30 <br /> and 40 feet bg <br /> Groundwater monitoring well MW-4R was advanced to replace MW-4 (which was abandoned during <br /> previous site construction) to a depth of 15 feet bg MW-4R was installed with a screen interval from 5 to <br /> a 15 feet bg and constructed using 4-inch-diameter Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing with flush <br /> threads and 0 010-inch-slot well screen <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-7 were each advanced to depths of 15 feet bg The <br /> monitoring wells were installed with a screen interval from 5 to 15 feet bg and constructed using 2-inch- <br /> diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing with flush threads and 0 010-inch-slot well screen <br /> Two double nested AS/SVE test wells (SPV-1 and SPV-2) were installed with screen intervals of 10 to 15 <br /> a feet bg In the deep segments and 3 to 8 feet bg in the shallow segments Both wells were constructed <br /> using 2-inch-diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing with flush threads and 0 010-inch-slot well screen <br /> All sod and rinse water generated during the drilling were placed in labeled Department of Transportation <br /> (DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums and subsequently removed from the site using proper transportation <br /> and disposal protocols <br /> n20632sar doc <br /> U <br />
