We will apply for it.
We are only charged for the transportation by our recycler, which is the cost we pass on to our customers. I will
keep these two situations in mind when I work on the grant. I'll keep you informed on our progress.
Thanks,
Elisa
From: Jennifer Frase [EH] [mailto:jfrase@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, January 14, 2008 1:21 PM
To: Elisa Moberly
Subject: Tire Amnesty Day?
I feel bad that I haven't contacted you since the CIWMB Conference. Haven't had time to slow down. I have two
citizens that need help with tire abatement. Is there any amnesty days in the plans? (My department isn't doing
any any time soon). Either that or is there currently a facility that accepts tires for free? I'm not aware of any, but I
thought I'd ask.
One of the people inherited a home with a "wall" of tires in the backyard (scary, I haven't seen it yet) and the other
is the Director of the Stockton Airport who had a tenant abandon a shop with 23 giant tires. He got a quote for
disposal for$3,000.00.
Anyway, Happy New Year. Let me know if there's any avenues I haven't found yet. Thnks much!
Jenni Frase, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 E.
