The "Soil Excavation Report" dated September 28, 1992
prepared by Kleinfelder and "Motorpool Site Excavated Soil" dated
October 23 , 1992 prepared by San Joaquin County Government
Buildings Division. PHS/EHD has the following comments for your
consideration.
On August 16, 1992 approximately 400 cubic yards of soil was
excavated from the area of former underground storage tank 03 to
remove residual soil contamination. Soil analysis of samples
collected from the excavation indicated that the residual
contamination had been removed. The excavation was subsequently
backfilled with clean imported soil. Two stockpiles were
produced during the re-excavation. Soil Pile #1 consisted of
approximately 240 cubic yards of former fill material. Soil pile
#2 consisted of approximately 160 cubic yards of contaminated
native material.
The Soil Pile #1 characterization analysis detected slight
concentrations of petroleum contaminants. Ten soil samples were
collected and lab composited into five samples, two of which
detected 3 ppb toluene and one of which detected 10 ppm total
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) . The request to dispose of Soil
Pile #1 to San Joaquin County Parks property is granted. The
soil is proposed to be distributed to Micke Grove Park,
approximately 120 cubic yards and to Westgate Landing Park,
approximately 120 cubic yards. Please submit soil disposition
receipts once the soil has been transported.
rv..se:......i C,..r........:..!'.,.nw T4—irh r—FnA— it 10
