1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1 The Santa Fe Railway Company (Santa Fe) Stockton Railyard and Fueling Facility (the Site) <br /> is located at the north end of Diamond Street in the City of Stockton, San Joaquin County, <br /> California A site location map is shown in Figure 1 <br /> 2 Three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the Site during the period of <br /> October 29 through November 9, 1990, under permit from the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services and the City of Stockton Fire Prevention Bureau (Permit No 13298) <br /> 3 The three former USTs included the following <br /> A 2,000-gallon UST used for the storage of gasoline <br /> r A 10,000-gallon UST used for the storage of wastewater <br /> • A 26,000-gallon UST used for the storage of diesel fuel <br /> The approximate locations of the three former USTs are shown in Figure 2 A dispenser and <br /> several feet of piping associated with the former gasoline tank were also removed, along with <br /> a remote fill line associated with and located adjacent to the former diesel tank <br /> 4 Segments of two sets of tracks and concrete track pans associated with the former locomotive <br /> fueling facility were also removed during tank removal activities A 350-foot wastewater lune <br /> connecting the former track pans and two inspection pits to the former wastewater tank were <br /> not removed This wastewater lane was later closed in place Figure 2 shows the location of <br /> the former track pans, the two inspection pits and the wastewater line <br /> S This report summarizes the soil investigation and remediation activities performed at the Site <br /> during the period of November through December 1990, and April through June 1993 <br /> Activities relating to the removal of the three former USTs were previously reported in the <br /> Tank Closure Report, Removal of Three Underground Storage Tanks, submitted to <br /> Mr Charles Hunt of San Joaquin County Public Health Services (San Joaquin County) <br /> in January 1991 A copy of this report is included in Appendix A <br /> 2.0 INITIAL SOIL SAMPLING / <br /> G <br /> 1 Following removal of the USTs, soil samples were collected from the tanKpNcavation areas <br /> under the direction of Mr Hunt of San Joaquin County Two feet of sol (fill immediately/ <br /> 1 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS <br />
